The Dummy Shot™ was conceived to aid in the training of
gundogs. Many times during training we want to provide a
retrieve to shot. Until now we only had two options: 1.
Starting pistol, and a hand thrown dummy, 2. Dummy
launcher. Both these methods are TWO HANDED OPERATIONS. The Dummy Shot™ is a unique, easy to use
solution to provide a thrown retrieve to shot ONE HANDED. This
allows a free hand for lead correction when needed (running in
to shot / jumping forwards).
How it works
The Dummy Shot™ is in itself a blank firer.
All you do is 1) unscrew the end, 2) load a 6mm blank, 3)
screw end back on and activate safety catch. The dummy is now
ready for use. When you want a retrieve to shot all you do now
is 1) press safety catch off, 2) throw dummy in exactly the
same way as a conventional dummy with toggle. Once thrown the
dummy fires the blank in the air.

it works

Once fired the safety catch comes on automatically. The dummy
is particularly useful during walked up training. If you have
a dog which runs in to shot or jumps forward before sitting,
you can now keep him on a lead and correct him with your free
hand.
The Dummy Shot™ weighs 1lb, is made from
plastic covered in foam to give a soft feel. All internal metal parts
are stainless steel. The dummy is covered in a canvas "jacket"
so the appearance and feel is very similar to a conventional
canvas dummy. These jackets are easily removed and are
available in orange, green, red, white and rabbit
skin.
